Reconciliation, Range Automation, and Smarter Custody

Over the past twelve months, APB360 quietly grew up. What started as a firearms inventory and qualification platform has become a full custody-fidelity system — one that tracks not just what your agency has, but who has it, when they last touched it, and whether the paperwork agrees with reality. Here’s what shipped.

The Reconciliation Portal

The single biggest addition this year was the Reconciliation (Recon) module, which went from a blank page in early December to a completed v1 in a matter of days and has been evolving ever since. Recon gives armorers and compliance officers a structured way to walk through their inventory and confirm — asset by asset — that what the system says matches what’s physically in hand.

Key enhancements throughout the year:

• Automated recon logic tied directly to range and qualification events. When an employee shoots an asset, the system now auto-reconciles that asset’s custody in real time.
• A new RECON rendering mode on the Global Inventory Report so administrators can view fleet-wide reconciliation status at a glance.
• Token-based secondary reconciliation — safer than user IDs for shared verification workflows.
• “Last recon” and audit date columns across inventory and location reports.

Range & Qualifications: Now with Teeth

Range operations got a major overhaul focused on data integrity and automation:

• Massive new notification logic for qualifications: self-certs get triggered automatically, recon logs are created, and assets get flagged based on custody fidelity.
• Asset Override — a brand-new capability to swap in the correct asset during a qual, with automatic flagging so nothing slips through the cracks.
• Multi-instructor support on range events, including default instructor selection and improved error messaging.
• Instructor activity reports and a revamped qualification activity report.
• Auto self-certification on any firearm used in a qual — reducing paperwork friction while tightening the audit trail.
• Score modes for agencies with custom scoring requirements.
• Recurring reports for range RSVPs (with a temporarily-shelved ICS calendar feature we’ll revisit).

The Mini Bar: Alerts Where You Live

The Mini Bar — a persistent alert strip for master accounts — was introduced in November and rapidly became mission-critical. It surfaces:

• Flagged assets
• Missing or rejected inventory items
• Limbo status (a new asset state for items caught between transitions)
• Overdue certifications

We now also track “who flagged an asset” so accountability is clear when an issue is raised.

Roster & Employee Management

• New Roster v2 with retired employees split into their own page for performance.
• Days-elapsed column with a “NEVER” indicator for employees who’ve never submitted inventory.
• Ajax-powered employee search across the platform with better paging.
• New employee custody report with an “untouched” toggle to surface stagnant assignments.
• Job class codes and email now surface directly in employee dropdowns.
